Terry Seabrook T-Rio

2nd April 2023

Throughout Latin America on a sunny afternoon exciting rhythms of the bossa nova and the tango can be heard everywhere. And on a sunny afternoon in Newport the Apollo Theatre in Newport rocked to the same sounds as the Terry Seabrook T-Rio brought Latin America to the Isle of Wight.
With a rousing set that drew on the songbooks of American composer Clare Fisher as well as Ahmed Jamal and Pat Metheny Terry even found time to include a couple of self-penned numbers to showcase his writing skills as well as his keyboard virtuosity.

Accompanying Terry ware Davide Mantovani on bass and Tristan Banks on drums who provided a strong rhythm section around which Terry was able to weave sounds .that had feet tapping energetically throughout the theatre.
An altogether most enjoyable afternoon.

The next concert will be on Sunday 28th May at the Apollo theatre when the club's very own Bill Wills puts on his "Big birthday bash". The concert starts at 3.00pm at the Apollo Theatre, Pyle Street, Newport and tickets are available from Bill on 523879.
